GoodWork Incubator Participants are idea phase, early-stage or start-up nonprofit organizations led by passionate, creative and energetic leaders addressing important community challenges in the greater Seacoast region. Participants embrace learning, are deeply committed to the incubator process, and are willing to fully leverage the resources provided, including coaching, mentorship, and professional development.

The Aplomb Project is a 501(c)3 organization that uses the transformative power of art to uplift trauma survivors, promote creative healing and present inclusive artistic opportunities.
Through collaborative artistic expression, The Aplomb Project pays tribute to those who have experienced life-altering trauma. Contemporary portrait artist, Danielle Festa, captures the resilience of trauma survivors, gifting the resulting oil portrait to the voluntary participants to celebrate their courage and strength.
Throughout the year, the Aplomb Project sustains survivor support and empowerment with a healing centered approach to creative and mindful events and prompts via the Aplomb Community open to survivors and allies.
Lotus and Lavender Burial is a nonprofit working to provide environmentally sustainable interment options for the Seacoast by establishing green burial cemeteries. Green burial is a return to the traditional practice of simply burying a body in the ground and not impeding the natural decomposition process. This method allows the body to nourish the environment while creating the opportunity for a beautiful farewell and final resting place in nature. Our vision is a mixture of wildflower meadow and woodland burials on conservation land, incorporating community engagement and educational offerings.
The Mission of Room for Love is to lovingly create bedrooms for children to positively boost their enthusiasm and outlook on life. The vision is to remove the shame and embarrassment of having a room that does not provide a clean and healthy environment and give children a space that reflects their sense of self and instills in them a sense of pride, ownership, and creativity. Providing a well-designed bedroom can help under-served children feel valued and loved by their community. They want children to know that they are not forgotten and that people care about their well-being.
The mission of Seacoast Climate Action Now (CAN) is to grow sustainable communities in New Hampshire’s Seacoast region through community partnership, inspirational education and practical climate action. Seacoast CAN is aligned with the urgency of responding to climate challenges now, with the understanding that we are all in this
together.
Seacoast CAN envisions a healthy, livable planet that is sustainable for all and that is based in inclusive, sustainable communities.
Youth Success Project is a board of young people who have experienced unaccompanied homelessness while under the age of 25. We believe that young people are the experts in the issues that affect us most directly and that we have a right to be included in decision making that affects our lives– and that our systems are better and stronger when we are. The Youth Success Project works to connect young adults to spaces where they can make positive change and provides them with support and tools to have meaningful and authentic involvement.
Up and running for 6 months, Alliance for Greater Good’s mission is rallying the kindness in others to address community needs. They are an organization of four friends who provide multiple ways for people to help others. Some examples of their work are a “Yoga at Sunset’ event that raised $1,000 in gift cards for the City of Portsmouth’s Back to School Fund that supported its welfare families, a ‘Share the Warmth’ event where they collected over 1,700 hats & mittens which were distributed to Gather families, a ‘Share the Joy’ event where they collected and distributed over 1,600 holiday cards for the elderly in five local assisted living and long-term care centers, and a virtual ‘Cocktails for a Cause’ event which raised over $6,200 for Take Out Hunger, a local initiative to pay restaurants to make meals that are distributed to those facing food insecurity.
The Alex Manfull Fund (TAMF) has been in existence since October 2021. TAMF supports awareness, education, and research to further understand the incidence, etiology, and best treatment of post-infectious neuroimmune disorders (aka PANDAS, PANS, and Autoimmune Encephalitis) with an emphasis on their manifestation in Adolescents and Young Adults. Our ultimate goal is that no life ever again be cut short – or interrupted – by any neuroimmune disorder.
Articine is a 501c3 that has been in operation for 8 months. Their mission is to connect artists and medical professionals to create and implement collaborative wellness experiences for people across New England. They are committed to the practice of supporting healthy lifestyles for all populations through arts-based workshops, performances and initiatives between medical professionals and artists. Using arts-based learning objectives and evidence-based medicine, Articine seeks to impact the wellbeing of people through customized experiences and innovative care solutions.
The Indonesian Community Connect is a 501c3 in its third year. Its mission is to connect the Indonesian community with the surrounding area through education and celebrations that promote the richness of Indonesian cultural heritage. They serve as the hub of resources for community members, local government, and collaborative partners in Indonesia. They facilitate mutual understanding among different cultures and values by promoting Indonesian food, art, music, fashion, and dance.
With one year under its belt, Red’s Good Vibes’ mission is to provide support and relief to the community with a smile and no judgment. They provide no-contact donated grocery deliveries to families and community members within thirty miles of Portsmouth. Since March 2020 they’ve raised $60,000 and have established many strong partnerships including selection as a WMUR Hometown Hero, a partner agency with NH Food Bank, a close collaborator with Gather, and relationships with Trader Joe’s and deLuigi foods.
The New England Young Fishermen’s Alliance (NEYFA) has been a long-awaited project of Andrea Tomlinson. After four long years of searching for funding, the USDA awarded a 3-year grant for the development of NEYFA in late 2021. NEYFA was created to combat the nationwide phenomenon called the “graying of the fleet”. In April 2022, NEYFA launched their annual Deckhand to Captain training program for six trainees and plans to provide necessary resources and networking opportunities for young fishermen throughout southern Maine, NH, and northern Massachusetts in order to preserve our dayboat fishing industry; an integral part of our culture and heritage in northern New England.
The Children’s Law Center of New Hampshire is the first nonprofit in the state to provide wrap-around legal services and social-service advocacy to children growing up in poverty who are involved in child criminal, abuse and neglect, and special education systems. These children frequently have overlapping legal needs: children charged crimes, for example, often are also identified with special education disabilities that aren’t being adequately served in school. In addition to being interdisciplinary—representing the child’s legal needs across legal systems—CLC-NH will use a multidisciplinary approach by employing both social workers and peer support with lived experience.
One year in operation, the mission of Our Place, Inc. is to provide residential options, services and supports designed to meet the needs of adults with developmental disabilities. They are dedicated to fostering growth and independence through vocational, social, and recreational opportunities. Their goal is to proactively address an orderly transition of care for adults with developmental and similar disabilities from their aging parents to a stable, reliable, and caring environment.
Reach for the Top Therapy Services is a nonprofit pediatric therapy center providing family-centered occupational, physical, and speech therapies. Founded in 2014, but under new leadership since 2021, Reach has committed to a transformational leadership approach where team members’ and families’ voices are heard to continually tailor our therapy model. Reach is committed to specialty program development, case-care collaboration hours, weekly ‘Lunch & Learns’, mentorship support, and Wellness Wednesday for staff self-care. Our philosophy is based in patient-informed care, and we invite guest speakers with exceptional needs to voice their own experiences and needs, which helps shape our therapies and supports with a strengths-based approach.
Purseverance 207 has been in operation since March 2019. Purseverance 207 is an organization that collects gently used purses filling them with personal items, such as, toiletries, snacks, feminine products, sanitary items, and more. Each purse also contains something to uplift and inspire the recipient to keep moving forward. Once the purses have been filled, they will be donated to transitioning women in homeless shelters, recovery centers, domestic violence shelters and any place committed to helping women find their way out of the darkness and into the light. Purseverance has delivered 486 purses to 27 organizations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont since starting. Empowering women one purse at a time.
Soul Models is a nonprofit organization serving middle school girls in New Hampshire and Maine. Our mission is to empower girls to discover their authentic selves as they become mindful, confident, creative, and engaged leaders. We do so by administering a 10-week after-school program in partnership with local schools. Our curriculum follows the central themes of self-care and takes a holistic approach to mentoring young girls. Experienced facilitators provide hands-on activities and tools that will increase their self-confidence and resiliency, with a focus on the practices of mindfulness, meditation, yoga, creative expression through art and music, community service, and leadership.
Vocal Artist and Educator, Angelynne Hinson plans to partner with non-profit, governmental and medical organizations to provide therapeutic singing programs for populations that need strategies and techniques to improve and maintain the speaking voice.
Access Navigators helps people impacted by mobility impairments plan for what to expect when they visit towns and cities throughout New Hampshire and New England by providing reliable web-based guides with restaurant and attraction accessibility information. Access Navigators also builds awareness of the need for and benefits of community accessibility with speaking engagements, interacting with businesses, organizations, and government agencies; and teaching a course on accessibility at the University of New Hampshire.
Step Up Parents provides financial assistance and support to grandparents and other relative caregivers who have stepped up to raise the children of parents struggling with substance use disorder.
Vouchers for Veterans thanks veterans living in New Hampshire and southern Maine for their military service by providing them with vouchers to purchase healthy, nutritious food directly from local farmers and growers at designated farmers markets.
The Friends of Lafayette House is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Lafayette House, a vibrant and nurturing home for adults with developmental disabilities in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
BigFish Learning Community promotes self-directed learning by helping young people make a plan that illuminates who they are and who they want to become. Big Fish celebrates the AHA! moments, support the hours of self-driven exploration, and provides opportunities for meaningful connections.
Library of Things creates a connected and resilient community that promotes a healthy environment and social equity by sharing and using what we already have. Once established, the Library of Things will operate like a traditional library, providing a centralized location where community members can borrow and donate useful but underutilized items.
